Here is an interesting way to look at our current market. On average, we are selling around 400 houses a week this month. That means, on average, fifty-seven houses are selling each day. So it is pretty safe to say more than one hundred people are looking to buy or sell a house every single day right now. (Fifty deals a day, with a buyer and seller in each deal.)
Absolutely, interest rates affect the market. More people bought when rates were at rare, historic lows, because more people had access to mortgages. Just as equally, more people buy in warm, temperate months than in cold, windy months. It is simply easier to go outside.
People are always buying and selling houses though. No matter what interest rates are at. (People bought houses when interest rates were at 18%!) No matter how terrible it is outside. September was nothing but rain, and still we sold over 2,000 houses that month. (Or 500 a week on average.)
It is not really about ‘Is it a good time to sell?’ or not. It is about ‘Do you need to sell or buy?’. If so, give me a call. I can help you figure this out. 515.724.3163

P.S. – Don’t forget I am looking for ugly houses to buy. If you know someone who wants out of their house, and doesn’t want to deal with it, let me know. For just a phone call, I will give you $1,000 once I close on the deal.
